Melbourne is the city is synonymous with food, wine, and niche, ironically themed restaurants. However, the magnitude, sprawl of these establishments can be overwhelming to the outsider. How is one supposed to know which ones have the most legendary pop-culture icons in mural form on their walls? Which ones use quality produce and innovative techniques to produce some of the best food and wine in the world?
Answer: Use the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival as your guide
From the 16th until the 25t of March the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival celebrates everything that Melbourne and its regions has to offer. One of the 200+ events is the “Restaurant Express”. Patrons can choose from over 80 restaurants in the Greater Melbourne and receive a two-course meal and paired wine for $40 a head.
Any other week of the year it takes time, energy and a network of hipster to friends to navigate the labyrinth of alley ways and find the hidden treasures and the cult favourites but the MFWF brings it all to the fore.
This year Busbys Restaurant will also be participating in the Restaurant Express. The incredible Contemporary French cuisine brought to the table by Chef Jack Chan is hidden behind The Buckingham Hotel’s red-brick façade. In the spirit of hidden treasures and exploration we seek to connect with our local community through a common love of fine food, new experiences and classic hospitality.
